Any time. I'm currently an Ubuntu MATE user, so I've got that program
in my menu, although I'm about to switch back to Kubuntu after several
years away from it.

I haven't tried Déjà Dup, but it looks very basic and doesn't have a
lot of options, which should make it pretty easy to use. I find a
couple of things about it to be disconcerting, though:

	* It's telling me that my last backup was 737 days ago, but
I've never used it. I have no idea what would happen if I
clicked the "Restore..." button, but I don't intend to find
	  out.

	* I took a look in the program's Help document and it says,
"Backups are kept forever by default, but still may be
deleted earlier if the storage location begins to run out
of space." I'm not a fan of programs that make decisions
for me on when things should be destroyed.

My backup method of choice used to be my own personal scripts, but
maintaining and updating them got to be a bit of a chore, so I
switched to Grsync, which I love. It's a GUI front-end for rsync and
it's fully customizable. Since it has so many options, though, you do
need to know a thing or two to use it, so it wouldn't necessarily be
a good option for folks who are just starting out with Ubuntu or who
have never done backups before. My reason for loving it is that you
set it up once (after doing research on which rsync options you
would prefer) and then just use it from then on which, for me, means
doing a dry run, examining its result, and following that by doing a
full run each time.

Yep. A rubber spatula will do nicely.
