suggestions for recording video lessons?

I just installed and try it. It works, and records audio with Pulse
Audio and Built-in audio source. Now I need to figure out how to hide
its own window, AND I would need some way to overlap my own face
talking, as framed from the webcam, and nothing else. If I use the
Cheese webcam program, it does not stay on top when I move windows,
and it is too big anyway. Suggestions on this? the "hide its own
window" thing must be written somewhere in the docs I haven't read
yet, but I have realized that this "picture in picture" thing is the
only part I am missing now. At least for the first tests...
