OK, I googled it and it turns out to be Fn + F3 (F3 has a moon picture
on it)

I meant hibernate for the time it takes to move between the office and
my home for example. This is what I have been doing for years. Have
never hibernated longer than 24 hours or so at any one time.

On my 8440w notebook it suspends and then cannot turn back on. In fact
every way to suspend results in the lockup in suspended mode.

Could be BIOS related or else the fact that its battery is dead. I am
on AC power so that should not affect things this way unless there is
circuitry internally that separates the power lines...

I have ordered a new battery but unfortunately in COVID-19 times
delivery is delayed to about 2 weeks...
