Hi Bob,

I still maintain that setting your scanner up to drop the files into a
local SMB folder is the easiest way to do scanning on your network. A
quick google indicates your specific device should be capable of this.

The process is to set up an SMB shared folder on my computer and then
simply just use the touch screen interface on the scanner to perform
all the actions and the file type of my choosing just ends up in the
SMB folder exactly how I want it. No need for XSane or any other app,
just pressing buttons on the scanner. Some scanners even let you do
the config via a web interface to make life easier.

Then there is no software needed on the PC ever.

Regards,

Jared
