OK, so we _need_ to know what motherboard you have.
Take the lid off and have a look with a flashlight! You don't have to
unplug or disconnect anything. Might be a good time to blow the dust
out, though!

Are the speakers amplified? Yes? If so, are they plugged in? If yes,
then turn up their physical volume control.
Is there a headphone socket at the back? Try that.

Will only apply if you connect via HDMI to a monitor with speakers.
I presume you don't, if it's disabled.
