Hey there,

This conversation has become OT. The OP wants help with a Canon Pixma
G3501. He also recognized that the possible suggestions offered to
him so far didn't apply in his case and has since moved on to ask for
additional help, which I can't provide, but perhaps you can.

Below will be my last contribution to the OT portion of this thread.

You seem to have a pattern of drawing conclusions without obtaining
information.

The scanner drivers provided by Brother are offered only when you
select "Linux" as your operating system, so it's not finger-pointing
or GNU/Linux bashing to point out that those fail to fully perform.
It's a simple observation.
