Good subject lines can make the difference between your question being
heard and your question being ignored.

Your original subject line was "A question about groups". But your
question was not really about groups. Your question was about building
packages from source.

As a result, the people in this group who build packages from source
might not have realised that your question was one that might interest
them, or one that they might be able to help with.

That's why I have left the entire text of your question in this
response, and changed the subject line. Maybe someone who has actually
built packages from source will see your message and respond...
