Canon Pixma G3501 & *Ubuntu 18.04 LTS: though I CAN print, I CANNOT scan.

uh, yeah, also my Brother MFC9340 scans fine also, installed the drivers
and ran the brsaneconfig one liner,
and it worked perfectly, first try:

I think both posters are right... Brother provides drivers that perhaps are
not used by sane, but
they do supply brsaneconfig configures the SANE drivers.
