Hi Bas,

Not sure if it's helpful or not but it's been years since I've
bothered setting up XSane for any of my scanners. I find it cumbersome
and flakey and actually unnecessary for me to get scanned documents.

All of the printers I've purchased in the last 5-10 years have had the
ability to scan to a network drive (usually using SMB). So I set up an
SMB shared folder on my computer and then simply just use the touch
screen interface on the scanner to perform all the actions and the
file type of my choosing just ends up in the SMB folder exactly how I
want it. No need for XSane or any other app, just pressing buttons on
the scanner.

For reference, the current device I have is a Fuji Xerox cm315z, I've
also done it in the past with several HP products.

Not sure if your device is capable (a quick google didn't turn
anything up either way) but if it is, it might be a much easier way to
achieve what you're looking for.

Regards,

Jared Norris
