DNS delay on first lookup, Ubuntu 19.10 but not earlier versions

Actually, I recently switched from 16.04 to 18.04, and already encounter all sorts of unpleasant systemD-resolver issues.
I do sincerely hope, that all of these dns-issues are "re-solved" in upcoming 20.04
Much around systemD seems (!) to lack stability, or non-backwards-compatipibity.

To be honest the whole systemd resolver (and Network Manager's
involvment) configuration is a mess, it needs a developer to come along rip all the junk out and start again.
