Gnome control center crashes

I've looked for gnome configuration files in ~/.config. There is gnome-
control-center, gnome-session and gnome-initial-setup-done with "gnome"
in the name. But none of it makes gnome-control-center run again, when
moved out of the way. I've also tried systemsettingsrc und update-
notifier.
Do you have any idea of what config files might be relevant? I don't
want to move the entire ~/.config, because this could possibly break
things.
