Btw. on another Linux mailing list I followed a thread regarding
"kernel-install", "dracut" and "mkinitcpio". There are pros and cons
related to different bootloaders, as well as different ways how to
actually "install" a kernel and how to handle hooks.

It was very interesting, since despite different opinions, it didn't
become a flame war, even the tone of voice didn't become very harsh,
neither it was escorted by bikeshedding.

It's seemingly a topic that affects a lot of us, but we are seemingly
flexible and ambivalent regarding solutions how to manage it.
