Hi,

you could power down and then run a live Linux.

Directly installing a bootloader by running a live Linux might not
work, if you shouldn't use MBR, but it should work, when using MBR and
if there should be no need to purge and reinstall the bootloader
package/s. A systemd-nspawn container never works, but a chroot should
always do the job.

Once the bootloader is installed, anything else could be done by
a chroot. From now on systemd-nspawn could be used, too and you even
should be able to boot the install, especially since the keyboard
layout was already set up, there should be no annoyances.

Regards,
Ralf
