Connecting to a basic wi fi network (getting on the internet) in Ubuntu

Is the (not found) wi-fi adapter a BroadCom by any chance? If so it will work 
you just need to add their formware installer

$ lspci | grep 14E4
or
$ lshw | grep 14E4

I think that should find Broadcom wi-fi
