Not exactly.

Oliver Grawert suggested using snap to back up to the last version that 
was stable on my system. However, for reasons that are too long to get 
into, I'm still on the 32 bit version of Ubuntu, and I could not find 
older versions of FF i386 in snap.

Rashkae suggested using firefox --no-remote --profilemanager to 
non-destructively create a new profile. This worked fine and I am slowly 
transferring all the configuration data to the new profile.
