According to LibreOffice's "Help ->  About LibreOffice" I'm on  5.1.6.2,
and  under "View"  there is  "Freeze Rows  and  Columns".  I had already
found that earlier,  but clicking on it then  didn't produce any notice-
able effect.  So I now used "Help -> LibreOffice Help" and found out how
to use that feature.

So that's solved, too.  Thank you very much :-)
