In my experience it is most likely a messed-up profile (that just
seems to happen sometimes) or an extension that is not compatible with
the new FF.  An alternative to trying a new profile is to logon as a
different user and try it there.  It is easy to add a 'test' user to
try it, if you do not already have a second user.  You may also be
able to logon as guest dependent on how your system is setup.
