Um. I hesitate to criticise but that is a _really_ failure-prone,
complex and difficult way of doing it, and it doesn't address other
OSes on the disk, either.

Easy way:
* attach new disk as well as old, e.g. externally on USB
* use cloning tool to image old disk to new
* use Gparted to adjust sizes as desired

Done.
