That's some years ago? I'm on Kubuntu and looking closer at /etc/apt/sources.list
(it's been years since I did that) it does contain the standard repos. I thought
they had changed it to having most in sources.list.d - my bad.

Do you mean that the ppa is password protected? I actually didn't know you could do that.
