Just FWIW / FYI

I bought a Kindle DX on eBay before I moved to Czechia. It's an
e-paper Kindle but has a 10" screen. (Sadly, no backlight or wifi, but
it's an old model and I think long discontinued.)

Its unique strength is that it can display an A4 PDF at readable size
without reflowing it, and it's a pleasure to read from. Its battery
life is measured in weeks and it's a small fraction of the weight of
any tablet. It is, however, a bit bulky for travelling and so on.

There are options for iPad-sized e-ink readers, but they are not cheap.

Works great on Windows, Linux and Mac, without any additional software
-- it just appears as a removable drive. I just use Calibre for
conversions and often don't bother with it for transfers.
