Firefox not saving passwords (68.0.1 on Ubuntu)

On Arch Linux I launched Firefox 68.0.1 by

  firefox --ProfileManager

then I create a new profile named

  TEST

as it's directory I chose

  ~/Desktop

(note ~/Desktop on my installs is unused/empty) I visited

  https://www.zoho.com/

when I logged in it was automatically offered to save the password and
saving it works.

FWIW I never ever would use multi-factor authentication for anything,
at least not unless I'm really forced to do it, since it does not
improve security at all and it's just a PITA to use. However, I never
ever would save a password at all for something that really requires
security, such as online-banking, I'm only doing it for forum website,
email websites and similar.

That Firefox doesn't suffer from the same issue for me, does not mean,
that Firefox is a pleasure to use for me. Mozilla projects are
overdeveloped to death. There does not exist a Mozilla project that is
comfortable to use anymore.
