Well I'm replying to the wrong message in this thread but I'm now using
neomutt on a paranoid test basis. It seems to work with yahoo and gmail
now playing with hotmail. I will have to set some things to make it
more intuitive but I think I can build neomutt and mbsync locally so am all
set. I was not sure how mbsync is supposed to work but apparently with
the settings I used if the imap server died it thought it fetched a
message that was blank and would not try later so I'm still looking into
that.

I actually like having some ads and text ads that don't destroy
performance would be ok... But at 20Mbytes/add nothing works on my
machine.


As far as the discussion of file formats goes, I'm not sure latex would
be worse than html for email messages. It does require more to render
into the intended document but the source is quite readable so you may
not need to render it :)
