Not all Thinkpads come with Intel NICs. *Some* come with Realtek Wireless. And
*some* have Broadcom (hard wired NICs):
On my Thickpad R500:
03:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8191SEvB
Wireless LAN Controller (rev 10)
04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Limited NetLink BCM5787M Gigabit
Ethernet PCI Express (rev 02)
(The Broadcom hard Ethernet works OK. The Realtek wireless sometime goes off
into nowhere land and the driver needs to be unloaded and reloaded. This is
with kernel 2.6.32-754.3.5.el6.centos.plus.x86_64 under CentOS 6.)
