Webcam videos - kamoso vs cheese

Hi All,

I tried using "kamoso" to record webcam videos. It was unusable. After
_much_ effort installing this or that library, I went to askubuntu.com, it
recommended "cheese" instead. Installed that, recorded a short webcam video
and played it back with another program.

Hardware involved:-
Samsung NC10 - hawking
Intel Atom N270, 1.66GHz, 32-bit, 2GiB RAM, 149.05 GiB hard drive, no
optical drive, Ethernet and WiFi connections, lubuntu typically installed
via USB flashdrive
https://gist.github.com/21b61903871ee685fc79

Operating system used:
Lubuntu 18.04 LTS, 32 bit.

I'm setting it up for someone who will need to record a video for a course
in a few months time and was facing the prospect of buying a £400-£500
laptop in order to do that, something she can ill afford.

HTH,

Ian
