It's been too long since I did Samba stuff for me to answer this, but I 
know one thing you'll be asked is: "What's your directory service 
back-end?"  E.g., do you have an NTLM domain?  An AD domain?  Or is this 
a small setup with just a couple machines and no backend?  (I'm betting 
on the lattermost, because that'd explain your symptoms -- but I'm not 
sure what the answer would be.)
