The thread wasn't hijacked. It's important to be aware that upstream of
non-free software could make decisions that could be problematic.
Before peperflash Adobe flash for Linux was discontinued, was completely
outdated for years. That it changed for the moment,
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ , shouldn't hide the
fact that nowadays even old 64 bit CPUs became useless for some
software, see https://www.bitwig.com/en/support/faq.html : "64-bit
dual-core or better x86 CPU with SSE3 support"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE3
Wiki's spreading misinformation don't help either, see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Athlon_X2_microprocessors#%22Brisbane%22_(G1_&_G2,_65_nm) .
the Wiki claims that the Athlon X2 BE-2350 supports SSE3, but this is
false information, see the output of hwinfo,
https://lists.linuxaudio.org/pipermail/linux-audio-dev/2010-June/027187.html .
I replaced my Athlon X2 BE-2350 based machine by a newer Intel machine
around a year ago.
So again, nowadays you even can't use older 64bit CPUs for some tasks,
especially not as soon as non-free software is involved.
