Can't enable livepatch on 16.04.3

I am having trouble enabling canonical-livepatch service on my ubuntu 
server:


root at list:~# canonical-livepatch enable TOKENHERE 2018/01/04 12:02:19 
Error executing enable?auth-token=TOKENHERE. Bad server status code: 
400. URL: https://livepatch.canonical.com/api/machine-tokens {"error":

What is the issue here? I can't find anything useful online regarding this
