Warning from upgrages

For some time now, my upgrades have contained a warning that I do not
understand.  It appears at the very end of the install process:

W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/ast_dp501_fw.bin for module ast

Can somebody tell me what this means, and what I should investigate or
should do about it?
