Ubuntu 16.04 and Win 8 can't dual booting

I couldn't have said it any better.

Boot the installed Ubuntu and from command line run

  sudo update-grub

this either generates the missing Windows menu entry or the output
might provide a pointer, why no Windows menu entry could be
generated.
