Most likely it's an user error and/or a bug. Until now there's no
evidence that you run malware.

To see the installed packages of this month, with the date when it
happened, run

  grep 2017-10 /var/log/dpkg.log | grep \ installed

To see what was an upgrade this month, with the date of the upgrade, run

  grep 2017-10 /var/log/dpkg.log | grep upgrade

Sure, malware could manipulate log files, but taking a look at log
files is a starting point.

I'm interested to see the output of

  grep unattended-upgrades /var/log/dpkg.log | grep \ installed
