Can anyone tell me what is wrong with LibreOffice?

Weird indeed. the .config\libreoffice directory has a single subdirectory
named 4. I assume this refers to the major version. The version number
displayed on the splash screen at startup is actually 5. So I don't know,
but I hope you find this information helpful.

I'm feeling a bit paranoid about my Ubuntu installation; I have a desire to
download a fresh image from the Ubuntu web site and reinstall after
recreating the bootable USB. Do you think my paranoia justified?
