I did just that.

Well, it was only a DOSBOX Windows (window..) with MSDOS edit.exe in it

hard to find on 64-bit Windows, only available on 32-bit (Windows 8).

But I gave up after a short while, too ghastly.

But great idea :).

Called mini-SATA (or even micro-SATA these days).
