Sir/Madam

I have installed Ubuntu 16.04

After somework I finally managed to get it to see the LDAP accounts on
the local LDAP server

(Ubuntu 14.04 had no such trouble with this)

I can sit on my 16.04 system and su – tyuiop and get tyuiop to mount ok

A getent passwd tyuiop also returns the correct id

However I cannot login to my 16.04 machine as user tyuiop

In /var/log/auth.log I see

Nov 24 11:13:43 ringworld sshd[29546]: pam_unix(sshd:auth):
authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=ssh ruser=
rhost=138.251.???.??? user=tyuiop

Nov 24 11:13:43 ringworld sshd[29546]: pam_sss(sshd:auth):
authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=ssh ruser=
rhost=138.251.???.??? user=tyuiop

Nov 24 11:13:43 ringworld sshd[29546]: pam_sss(sshd:auth): received for
user tyuiop: 10 (User not known to the underlying authentication module)

Nov 24 11:13:45 ringworld sshd[29546]: Failed password for tyuiop from
138.251.???.??? port 50021 ssh2

Any help would be sincerely appreciated
