Hi Isaac,

please open a new thread, you hijacked Richard's thread. You could open
a new thread by composing a completely new mail. _Do not_ use an already
existing mail and delete its content and use it for your email, instead
open a completely new/empty mail.

A default Ubuntu installer asks you to set up the first user's
password. By default this first user has got root privileges. By
default Ubuntu doesn't create a root account.

A default Ubuntu will only ask you for your user password. If you have
several user accounts and an operation should require root privileges,
it asks you for the password of the first user, even if you are logged
in by another user's account.

The Fedora site's rules are closer to most mailing lists, Ubuntu's
policy isn't that hard. However,
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines#Getting_Help_From_Your_System ,
"$ rpm -qd packagename" is misdirecting.

I wished all mailing lists would make MIME the default for digest and
forget about the claims that are related to plain text digest,
http://www.list.org/mailman-member/node28.html .

Regards,
Ralf
