Can't boot notebook from SSD

I'll see about giving that a shot - next weekend.  Only problem is the
boot HDD is a 500GB drive, whereas the SSD is only 240GB.  I'll have
to see how to clone that way.


You will have to shrink and move the partitions down to get it smaller than
the SSD.
