I did an update yesterday to the latest Xubuntu 16.04.2 LTS updates, and the consoles seem to be gone. I just logged out so I could migrate to an encrypted home directory, and the <ctl><alt>F[1-6,8] don't give me the consoles anymore. Any lights here? Thanks. MR
