Kate certainly is.
But as Liam says, "UI is all". I am not concerned with features.
I have never used 1% of Kate's features, but I cannot use it to put text
in.
I cannot even achieve printing with it the way I want, because I cannot
set margins ;-).
I mean to say that I cannot use it as a Notepad replacement. So I've
been using "xed" from Mint. I think it comes nearest of a usable thing
to me. I think it is not so hard to edit it to get it to have some
margins that I like, but I remember failing to compile it.
Anyway, all of this I've said before I guess, but just to recap...
Anyway, I would still like to know if there is something wrong with me
;-) or there is actual difference in font rendering in KDE versus
Unity/Mint. And that I'm just seeing things but it doesn't bother other
people? I would have to fire up an Ubuntu live DVD at this point.
I mean for jEdit of course.
And of course I agree with LittleGirl that the thing should be
configurable (the margins). That was the whole point, it's a shame they
aren't. So thank you.
