I'm using syslinux, but I used GRUB legacy as well as GRUB 2 for
several years, before I migrated to syslinux.

hd0 and hd1 are two separated disks. Partitions are comma-separated,
e.g. hd1,1 or hd1,8 or hd1,msdos15 .
