well, the question was specifically about ubuntu-core which is a
plainly snap based OS and about Mir which is massively more secure than
X11 ...
i'm sure if you look for some minimal OS supporting deb packages you
will surely find a lot of kiosk variants that can run a standalone
browser on X11 :)
