In my case, I have no idea what make and model of touchpad it is 
(whatever comes with a Dell XPS 15), and I haven't consciously changed 
the driver, as I don't know how to do that (never needed to).

As installing Mint *did* upate the video driver (I saw it flash by) it's 
entirely possible that it updated the touchpad driver as well.
