Summarized there's a big difference between what we need by realtime
graphic and video rendering and by non-realtime rendering.

As long as an artist could draw on a tablet and get realtime output on
the display quasi all graphic work requirements are fulfilled.

Any 3D game realtime math and scientific 3D or even 2D real-time math
is more or less irrelevant for graphic and video work. The rendering is
done freewheeling, IOW non-real-time, you simply care about the result
that was rendered non-realtime.
