update-grub error {cannot find device for /} is /dev mounted ?

Its okay I have solved the problem. My mistake was that after setting up
the encrypted LVM I selected "Encrypt home partition" in the installer.
That messed up the already existing. configuration.
Now since I have not done that it is working fine.
