Installing nVidia 970M drivers on Ubuntu 14.04

Hi all,

My department bought an MSI GS40 Pantom [1] laptop to run heavy graphics
simulations.

The dev environment requires ubuntu 14.04 only. I am trying to install the
proprietary nVidia driver, but every time I do (either with the xorg-edgers
or graphics-drivers PPAs) - I get the Log in loop problem.

I am running in circles for a week now...

It's not related to the ./.Xauthority file.

Can someone refer my to the appropriate guide to do this?

Thank you!

Amichai
