How do I know when my Ubuntu was installed?

consider to e.g. use Google

take a look at e.g. the first hit

then e.g. run

[weremouse at moonstudio ~]$ ls -Gg /etc/hostname
-rw-r--r-- 1 11 Jul 25  2015 /etc/hostname

This at least was the date when I installed my Ubuntu Wili server
development version, which in the meantime was release updated to
Xenial.
