From the above link:
"Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin): ignored (end-of-life)"

The official repositories don't provide such a package:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=linux-generic-lts&searchon=names&suite=xenial§ion=all
They don't provide any 12.04.2 LTS, Precise Pangolin packages anymore.
You can't run a regular "apt-get -V dist-upgrade" without replacing
the repositories. However, you shouldn't replace the repositories with
those of another release, instead run "do-release-upgrade", but first
do some research and backup everything.
