Did you say you don't have Internet access on the computer? That's a pity if so.

Because what would help troubleshooting a lot would be if you could
paste the output of the 'dmesg' command here and post a link to the
list:

Also, if you can connect it, it's worth just doing an update. Stuff
can spring to life when you do that. Also you can check for
proprietary drivers. Here's how:
