PS:
Text console and window size? So you are running a GUI and in a
GUI terminal emulation you run a non-GUI editor. What terminal do you
launch?
Note, geometry for at least ROXTerm is broken,
https://sourceforge.net/p/roxterm/discussion/422638/thread/60da6975/ ,
so it requires to launch it with the --maximize option. On this or
another list I read about a geometry issue, for another GTK based
terminal, too.
