Oops, I wasn't careful, this is tricky,

cd into a directory were no nvidia* packages are located, before running
this command, since dpkg -l with * behaves different, if a directory
contains nvidia* packages. To ensure that really all nvidia* packages
get removed, at best change into an empty directory, e.g. create one
and then run the purge command.
