Unfortunately no.

Looking at sys.log I no longer see the message about the mismatch
between the kernel and the client. But I do see this:

init: nvidia-prime main process (1138) terminated with status 127 (I
googled this but found nothing useful)

and this:

Nov 6 21:39:14 Jims-1404 kernel: [ 15.146820] nvidia: module license
'NVIDIA' taints kernel.
Nov 6 21:39:14 Jims-1404 kernel: [ 15.146826] Disabling lock
debugging due to kernel taint
Nov 6 21:39:14 Jims-1404 kernel: [ 15.157800] nvidia: module
verification failed: signature and/or required key missing - tainting kernel

(googling this didn't seem to produce anythin useful)

When I ran your commands above I saw something about extras scroll by
and reference to a key. Which log would let me search for that message?

Thanks, Jim
