Ping error

Dear All
 
I am using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Unfortunately, I am facing a strange ping error.
When I ping www.google.com
It is OK
However, when I ping any numerical IP such as 127.0.0.1 I 
I got the following error
Ping sendmsg: invalid argument 
I tried to use /bin/ping xxxxxxx
But, I got same error.
 
May you please help me with this.
